This Project, “Four wheel steering”, is an application of steering of a car designed to reduce the overall turning radius of the vehicle. It uses mechanical linkages and coupling agents to connect the front steering axle to the rear steering axle. When the driver steers the car, the direction in which the front wheels turn is opposite the direction in which the rear wheels turn. This steering is quickly becoming the most common type of steering on cars, small trucks and SUVs.
Our design uses extremely simple ideas and mechanisms to achieve a complex set of actions and is intended to imitate the actions of the operators. Here, we have developed a small prototype of manually moving four wheels steering system.
