AND Logic Implementation using Diodes

A logic gate is an elementary building block of a digital circuit. Most logic gates have two inputs and one output. At any given moment, every terminal is in one of the two binary conditions low (0) or high (1), represented by different voltage levels. There are various types of logics are available like: AND logic, OR logic, etc.

Here we have implemented two input one output AND logic. In this logic, the output is high only when both inputs are high, otherwise the output remains low. The give circuit is easy to understand. Two diodes are used here. We know that the turn conducts only when the anode is at lower voltage then cathode. If any one switch is on, then the diode corresponding to that switch conducts and voltage at v2 remains low. If both switches are off (open) then only the votlage at v2 goes to high and LED gets turn on.
